Child Life United is the result of my love of travel, dedication to advancing the child life profession and a growing interest in global child life opportunities. Child Life United is an organization aimed at supporting the growth of Child Life services internationally while providing Certified Child Life Specialists and Child Life Students opportunities to collaboratively learn from locally sustained efforts.
During my 10 year career at Stanford Children’s Hospital as a Certified Child Life Specialist, I worked with a wide variety of children and families, becoming increasingly aware of the growing need to develop additional skills to support and complement the advancement of my professional development.
After completing my Master's degree in Public Health with a focus in community health education from San Jose State University in 2013, I began teaching as an online instructor for the University of California Santa Barbara Extension program teaching Introduction to Child Life: Theory and Practice. During my experience as a University educator I met countless students with varying interests, including global child life. With that Child Life United was founded.
